It has been reported to Staffordshire Police that there has been a theft of a a BMW in Hammerwich. Offenders have broken into a house overnight and stolen a car and taken the keys to another car that belongs to the property. The thieves had broken the glass panel in the rear door and have taken the box of keys in it. Prior to this theft, there was a suspicious incident where a male has knocked at the door and asking if the resident was an Uber service. It is advised that if you are not expecting visitors to not answer the door, always ask for ID if you choose to answer the door and you can always, if necessary, open an upstairs window instead of answering the door.
